Stanford to Offer an Online Certificate in Innovation

Program set to launch in May 2015

Stanford Graduate School of Business has announced that it will offer a new online certificate program in corporate innovation.

This is Stanford's first time delivering an executive education program online. The online learning platform will recreate "the intimate and academically rigorous on-campus Stanford experience in an interactive online environment," according to a Stanford press release.

"Participants will engage with a select cohort of peers, collaborate on projects, interact directly with coaches and faculty, and gain insights from successful global leaders."

The certificate in innovation will include three foundation courses and five individually-selected electives, covering a wide range of topics. The foundation courses include "Financing Innovation: The Creation of Value," "Strategic Thinking," and "Critical Analytical Thinking for Executives." Electives will include offerings in neuroscience and design thinking, among others.

The program will mix self-paced video lectures with team work, using a cloud-based collaboration system.
