Columbia to Begin Offering Executive Education Online

Inaugural online course, on leadership, to start in January

Columbia Business School has announced plans to begin offering some executive education courses in an online format. Columbia's first online course, "Personal Leadership Online" is set to begin in January.

"Personal Leadership Online" will be offered in two flavors: an "Essentials Edition" that lasts for ten weeks, as well as an "Executive Education" edition that lasts for twelve weeks. In each class, participants will receive two to three modules of recorded video lectures each week, in addition to live webcasts and other opportunity for interaction. According to a Columbia press release, the course will help participants  gain "insights and tools to gain mastery over one’s goals, values, purpose, thoughts, emotions, beliefs, mindsets and motivations, so executives can operate at their best in all moments, become a more effective leader, build stronger relationships, and experience greater fulfillment at work and in life."

A second online program, "Driving Strategic Impact," will commence spring 2013.
