A partnership between Marquette, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and CFA Institute, has led to a new executive program whose aim is to help leaders develop their sustainability management and investment skills. The program consists in four-modules with no credits.
Successful students will attain a certification in the Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting, and ESG Investing, along with developing suitable skills for positions in sustainability management, sustainable accounting, product development, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investing.
“Every company out there is looking to sustainability management functions as ultimately being required, so when you consider the number of companies and investment firms that need to supply talent who are credentialed and have the knowledge and experience to work in these capacities, there’s a real demand,” pointed out Noelle Brigham, instructor professor of practice in the Opus College of Engineering. Brigham worked in the development of the program along with Dr. Christopher Merker, lead instructor of the sustainable finance and business program.
Merker believes that there is "a significant need for executive training in sustainability.” Merker and Birgham have become program instructors, along with Dan Romito and John Mueller, from Pickering Energy Partners and Dana Investment Advisors, respectively.
