Canada's Western University Ivey Business School will launch a new executive education program focusing on leadership in March.
The new program is called "Leader Character: The Breakthrough Leadership Dimension," and will help managers integrate tools that can help them improve their leadership.
According to the program webpage, leaders need good character traits more than ever. Failures in decision-making – "from the catastrophic disasters of the 2008 global financial crisis to the shortcomings in our personal lives – can often be traced to character-based issues such as lack of humility, close-mindedness, impatience or lack of courage."
The program takes place over three days and covers character topics in courage, accountability, collaboration, and judgment. It's primarily designed for senior leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, such as members of boards of directors, C-level executives, and other executives with significant leadership responsiblity.
