ASU - Carey Launches Certificates in Big Data and Supply Chain

The new certificates will be delivered online

Arizona State University Carey School of Business' Executive Education division has announced that it is launching two new online certificates. The certificates cover topics in big data and supply chain and will take up to six months to complete. Here's a quick summary of the new options:

The new Business Analytics Certificate will help managers and team members work more effective with data analysts, and make better decisions based on data. "We want to help the big-data team members who only need to know the basics to help them participate and make a significant impact,” says Professor Michael Goul, who's the chair of ASU - Carey's Information Systems Department.

The certificate's core curriculum covers business analytics strategy and applied analytics, while electives will explore topics in enterprise analytics, data mining, and more.

Participants will take one course at a time on a flexible basis and can finish the certificate in six months or less. The Business Analytics Certificate is set to launch in April. The certificate is aimed at a broad range of managers and leaders who want to better understand the fundamentals of business analytics.

On the other hand, the new Supply Chain Certificate is aimed at professionals who already have supply chain experience but who would like to broaden their experience or get a refresher on supply chain topics. “This new online certificate program will help participants think more about the company as a whole – about how to manage complex supply chain problems,” says Professor John Fowler, chair of ASU - Carey's Supply Chain Management Department.

The certificate's curriculum covers a range of topics in procurement, logistics, supply chain, and operations.

Like with the Business Analytics Certificate, participants will take one class at a time online and can expect to finish the course in six months or less.

Certificate programs are generally designed meet the needs of busy working professionals who want to gain business skills but do not want to pursue a full degre program. Last week, New York University's Stern School of Business announced the launch of a new certificate program for working professionals.
